Senior System Database Administrator (DBA)

Our client is seeking 3 Senior System Database Administrator (DBA) to lead large enterprise databases in Washington, DC area as part of a 24/7 production DBA team. This position conducts database administration on Unix SOLARIS for test, development and production databases, including Oracle RAC, installation and configuration, partition maintenance, backup and restore/recovery, and database performance monitoring and tuning. Note: 24/7 environment is handled with a rotating pager that each team member carries for one week every 8-10 weeks.

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, engineering, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of extensive, directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic degree requirement.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills: Minimum requirements: 10 years of progressive experience in the Information technology field to include 5 years of experience in with following:
Multi-instance Unix environment with hands-on experience with PL/SQL; UNIX operating system environment; Oracle (8i/9i/10g) database administration.

Ability to lead and to work productively in a fast-paced and complex environment involving multiple contractors. - U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.

Desired Skills: SUN SOLARIS UNIX systems administration and maintenance experience are highly desirable. Experience with SQL Server is highly desirable.
