Senior System Administration

The Department of Homeland security Solutions is seek a Senior System Administrator to lead SUN enterprise servers in Washington, DC area as part of a 24/7 production SA team. This position conducts system administration on Unix Solaris for test, development and production servers, including Solaris 9 and 10 installation and configuration, Veritas filesystems and Veritas Cluster filesystems, Veritas Cluster implementation, backup/restore using EMC BCV and Legato, and system performance monitoring and tuning. Note: 24/7 environment is handled with a rotating pager.
Education: B.S. in Computer Science, engineering, or related technical discipline. 10+ years of extensive, directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic degree requirement.
REQUIREMENTS
10 years of progressive Information Technology experience to included 5 years experience of the following: Solaris on Sun Sparc servers; Veritas Filesystems and volume manager; setting up and using backup systems and restoration (Lagoto or tivoli. Ability to lead and to work productively in a fast-paced and complex environment involving multiple contractors. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.
Desired Skills: Oracle software rdbms installation and setup on Solaris environment, and knowledge of EMC SAN.
