Senior Support Analyst

GSD-Risk-IT provides technical and expert application support to all users of Risk systems, across the Market Risk, Credit Risk and Collateral Management business areas. The candidate should have the following qualifications: Have strong UNIX skills (command line & scripting) Have strong relational database skills, (Oracle or Sybase preferably) Have good organisational and communication skills Have a strong problem solving background Be able to interact well with both Business and Technical personnel. Be self-motivated and take responsibility for seeing tasks through to successful completion.The role of a technical support analyst involves the following: The capacity to quickly grasp an in depth understanding of the functionality and basic business concepts and methodologies of the Risk system under your responsibility. An understanding of the process and mechanism of how data is loaded into, or extracted from applications. A good understanding of the Infrastructure of each application. A good understanding of the system and architecture inter-dependencies. Good general PC skills. Resolving issues escalated by Level 1 support Internal and external customer relationship management Ad hoc reports/extracts Pre-production testing Software release and configuration A flexible approach to working hours, e.g., working occasional weekends & provide on-call support Must be able to work with resources from diverse ethnic backgrounds and locationsThis role is for a senior support analyst with the following additional requirements: Ability to become the key technical support person for an application or application set. Ability to perform on the job training for more junior members of the team. Ability to manage serious incidents, manage conference calls and escalations to management. Able to manage a team of analysts working an issue, including where these analysts are working globally. Able to perform in-depth analysis of problems to identify root causes and prevent re-occurrence. Able to support process change initiatives. REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications: 2 year technical degree or international equivalent
Minimum 2 years experience in Unix (command line & scripting)
Minimum 2 years experience in relational databases (Sybase or Oracle)
