Senior Programmer / Junior Quantitative Analyst

Responsibilities: A major financial company, located in NYC, is looking for a Senior Programmer/Junior Quantitative Analyst. In this IT capacity, the candidate will be involved in the design, implementation, and support of all aspects of creating software solutions for the Global Portfolio Services Department. In addition to dealing with various IT personnel, the selected candidate will interact with senior personnel in other departments including: Research Analysis, Chief Investment Officers/Directors of Research, Senior Portfolio Managers, Quantitative Analysis. Application development will be performed mostly in SQL (SQL 2000 and Sybase 12.5), C#/ASP.Net, and Java. This position will allow the selected candidate to broaden his/her knowledge of the equity markets, helping to build tools to support buy-side equity research, and management. This position will also serve as a stepping stone into the Quantitative Research Group; allowing the candidate to familiarize him/herself with our client's models, data environments, and practices (while gaining on-the-job experience in that environment).
