Senior Network Engineer

Summary:

Responsible for the engineering, configuration, installation, and maintenance of the local and wide area networks. Provides complex technical support to various departments and users as it relates to the LAN/WAN. Will serve as point of contact for vendors and other providers. Assist departmental management in vendor and network selection. Operates under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.

Essential Job Duties:

·Performs complex installations, upgrades, and maintenance on the LAN/WAN
·Responsible for on-going assessment and upgrade of network
·Collects and analyzes network statistics
·Researches, evaluates, and recommends hardware and software
·Troubleshoots complex network problems
·Develops relationships, review contracts, and coordinates with vendors
·Provides leadership and direction for lesser experienced engineers
·Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Credentials:

Required:
·6 - 10 years of networking experience.
·Advanced knowledge LAN/WAN technology, pc, servers, router, and internetworking
·Advanced knowledge in IP telephony technology
·Solid problem solving/troubleshooting skills
·Proven ability to grow through self study
·Proven leadership ability

Preferred:
·Bachelors Degree in computer science/engineering or related work experience (related work or Military experience will be considered)
·CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, or MCSE certifications

Physical Requirements:
·Ability to sit at a computer terminal for long periods of time.
·Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position.
·Ability to handle considerable stress at times.
