Senior Microsoft Exchange Architect

SkilGroup, Inc. is in search of an Senior Exchange Architect. This person will be looking 3 years into the future on Microsoft messaging, server, desktop and mobile environments and determine how to leverage new capabilities to support our client's business needs. This person needs to be able to sell laterally (to peers) and upwards (to executive management) on his/her ideas. This person will be the overall architect for all things server and messaging related for the company. The Exchange Architect will have the following responsibilities: design and/or purchase messaging solutions, implementing and assuring their availability; handle server design and planning for various platforms and backup systems; identify and plan technology solutions for messaging components (e.g. Exchange, instant messaging, live communications); conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products; design and implement technology solutions that reach beyond current infrastructure strategy; develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for messaging system administration and appropriate use; model, tune and build server architecture; optimize queries, database and operating system environments; and lead migrations and/or upgrades as needed. This is a permanent position for a client in the northwest Chicago suburbs. Our client has one of the largest Microsoft environments in the world. LOCAL candidates only, please!
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have the following skills: 5+ years experience in systems and network design and development; 3+ years experience in messaging design and development; excellent architecture and technical support documentation skills; experience managing projects related designing infrastructure, servers, and/or capacity; project management experience; strong knowledge of data privacy practices and laws; and experience gathering and analyzing business requirements. Our client has a HUGE Exchange environment. There are 400,000+ users. Candidates must also have a very healthy appreciation for large scale systems. There are 100s of transactions per second. Candidates MUST know Active Directory!
