Senior Java / WebSphere Developer
This position is for a software application developer who participates in the full life cycle development of browser base and/or JAVA Service Layer applications. Ensure collection, analysis, detailed design, coding, testing and support in an organization whose focus is on the delivery of tangible revenue generating solutions for the company’s broad range of business units. Participate in the development life cycle with a focus leveraging the efficiencies of the OO/Java platform in a measurable way to reduce time and cost of this delivery, while improving the quality of our solutions. The position includes on-call rotating support, and light travel.

job Requirements
3 to 5 years minimum of extensive knowledge of Java; strong experience with WebSphere, WSAD/RAD
Knowledge of design pattern implementations
Experience with coding from OOAD set of specifications
Previous experience in software development using RUP including all processes and artifacts that are generated by RUP
Participates in JAD teams using knowledge / experience with Object Oriented Modeling and Use Case driven development
Leads JAD teams using Object Oriented Modeling and Use Case driven development
Extensive knowledge of and experience with HTTP and HTML
Knowledge of web based Presentation layer topics (Browser variances, JavaScript, DHTML, XML, XSL)
SQL,DB2/UDB experience
Use of MQ Series
Tools associated with developing and or supporting web based applications (i.e. click stream analytics, load testing web applications, enterprise content management systems, testing web application security
Participates in website system support and implementation for smooth transition to production
Participates in the determination of problems, the correction, the implementation of the correction in accordance with the change management procedures HSBC Compensation
