Senior Java Developer

Purpose: We are seeking a full-time Java Application developer.

Experience delivering Web applications using J2EE and related technologies is a major plus, but all candidates with generally strong object-oriented design and programming skills are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will be part of a strong Java development team, and will be responsible for both enhancing existing Web applications and developing new Web applications.

Duties:

Design and Develop real-world e-commerce and other Java Web applications Maintain and troubleshoot existing Java Web applications Work with customers and other staff to determine project specifications

Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline Minimum 2 years programming Web applications using Java (or other object-oriented) programming language Familiarity with J2EE APIs (e.g. Servlets, JSP, JDBC) and industry-standard technologies (e.g. Ant, Eclipse, Struts, Resin/Tomcat or other servlet container, SOAP / XML / Axis / other Web services technologies). In-depth familiarity with the Internet and WWW/CGI applications Entry-level familiarity with routine UNIX/LINUX commands and systems administration tasks
Familiarity with the following development tools is not required but is a plus:
Maven, Spring, Hibernate, Log4j, JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic). Following knowledge a plus: MySQL database administration, Oracle Database Administration, HTML, NT Servers, SQL, TCP/IP, OOA/OOD, Ftp servers, Mailing list services, database design, PC maintenance & software installation, networking protocols, or mainframe emulation protocols Strong organizational and prioritization skills Excellent communication skills, including good written and verbal abilities Self-motivated, creative and strong sense of accountability Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
