Design, create, and maintain the physical database structures required to effectively support applications in a Relational Database Management environment. Provide technical assistance to application project teams. Monitor RDBMS performance. Provide Database Object and application tuning recommendations. Work with RDBMS utilities to provide services such as table load/unload, reorganizations, backup/recovery, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
7-10 years experience in Information Systems with 5-6 years devoted to two of the following Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, DB2, or UDB. Work experience should include an application development background, but looking for a true DBA.Preferred Qualifications:
Specialized training from the Database Vendor or another third-party education organization. Retail systems knowledge background. Technical Support background. Database Certifications. Specialized training from a Database Vendor or another third-party education organization.
