Senior DB2 DBA

We are looking for a seasoned DB2 DBA for a local client. The person must have the following qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years experience with verifiable skills with DB2 certifications in recent releases preferred.
Exceptional problem solving skills.
Strong communication skills.
Banking or financial reporting experience helpful.
DB2 DBA experience on Z/OS (OS/390 or MVS) required.
Additional skills in DB2 UDB are desired. Experience using database monitoring tools.
Extensive experience with DB2 Utilities.
Strong SQL skills. Experience in tuning SQL code.
Expertise in backup/recovery/fail-over methods and best practices.
Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.


Responsibilities


Providing Production support of large 7x24 DB2 database, supporting online applications, with rotating on-call duties after hours. Troubleshooting Production problems and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems. Performing data analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information. Performing data management tasks as required loading, image copying, editing, restoring and removing data at the requests of our clients. Tuning of SQL code and assisting developers in writing and tuning SQL queries. Testing of new features or 3rd party tools. Interacting with DB2 support to resolve issues. Logical and physical database design.
