Senior COBOL Programmer Analyst
CDS is a global leader in data management. Our clients represent the world's leading publishers, direct marketing firms, financial institutions and corporate billers. CDS provides a wide range of outsourced solutions including: magazine subscription fulfillment, product fulfillment, data capture services, lockbox, lettershop services, statistical modeling, database services, Internet fulfillment and more! And we're seeking an experienced, successful Senior COBOL Programmer Analyst for our Des Moines corporate offices!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains confidentiality of CDS and its clients' proprietary information.
Analyzes user programming requests to determine technical responses.
Produces appropriate research and analysis necessary to complete assigned tasks according to established departmental procedures.
Creates, maintains, designs, develops and tests detailed programs, system specifications and test plans.
Maintains mission-critical programs.
Interfaces cooperatively with all levels of employees, clients and vendors.
Works on call and/or extended hours as needed. May travel as needed.*
REQUIREMENTS
SENIOR COBOL PROGRAMMER ANALYST-10320
Qualifications Desired:
Associates or Bachelor's in Computer Science, MIS or related field OR equivalent programming/analysis experience.
Four (4) or more years of progressively complex programmer analysis experience; strong preference for experience utilizing COBOL & SQL in an AS400 environment.
Successful experience completing design and implementation of multiprogram projects.
Proven experience communicating technical information to nontechnical persons.
Proven experience analyzing technical situations using research and troubleshooting techniques.
Full project life cycle experience.
Above average to excellent communications, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Capable of working extended hours as needed.
