SQL Server Database Analyst II

Responsible for installing and maintaining DBMS subsystems used by the company's business systems to store and access data. Includes the analysis, design development and implementation of efficient use of the physical and logical data structures and the processes related to backup and restoration of corporate data.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge at a level normally acquired by the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. Need a minimum of 4 to 7 years experience in database administration and knowledge of hardware and software (e.g. DB2, IMS, CICS, MVS, NT, WIN 95, UNIX, SQL Server, Oracle, Peoplesoft, data connectivity and related support products or their technical equivalent). Demonstrates knowledge in physical data modeling, database administration, and data architectures. General technical, project management, analytical and communications skills are required.
We have an immediate opening for a SQL Server Database Analyst. Responsible for installing, configuring, tuning and monitoring SQL Server 2000; experience with SQL 2005 is a plus. Design, develop, and maintain database structures, enforcing Talbot's standards. Implement effective backup and recovery procedures. Experience with SQL LiteSpeed a plus. Rotating on-call coverage required. Support numerous front end users including the e-commerce and customer service development teams. Experience with SQL Server replication and Reporting Services required. Replication using Transformation Server a plus.
