SQL Administrator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain current network using all available tools. Server and operating systems must be kept running. Duties that are performed to maintain this include:

Maintenance of all databases, tables and DTS packages
Install and configure new SQL Servers and databases
Windows Server 2003 / 2000 maintenance and troubleshooting
Check on Virus definitions and network security
Windows security patches and OS updates
Server Backup’s and restorations
Creation of Disaster planning documentation and procedures
Documentation of all server related functions
Monitor and maintain Active Directory group policy security settings
Microsoft SMS knowledge preferred.
REQUIREMENTS
Recommended experience:
*7 years minimum experience in IT field.
*3 years minimum of Microsoft SQL 2000, maintenance.
*Oracle knowledge and experience
*Experience with Veritas (Symantec) Backup Exec for SQL
*Knowledge of Web servers, FTP and IIS servers
*Knowledge of Citrix Metaframe
*Strong diagnostic skills
*Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to work with users.
*Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
*Microsoft MCSE or DBA preferable but not required.
