SMS Scripter

Purpose: Key Responsibilities of this position: Create and deploy custom MSI packages for software deployments and
upgrades, VBS and SMS Installer scripts to automate system tasks, and
Software updates and hot fix rollups using SMS (SUS) Software Update
Services.
Create custom SMS queries and custom SMS web reports to provide management with software deployment status, asset inventory (hardware and software), and software metering usage reports.
Must have a strong understanding of SMS client/server logs and ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to manipulate SQL data to provide requested custom reports to management.
Ability to work in a fast paced, matrix environment with aggressive deployment deadlines.
Required Skills:
5+ years experience with SMS 2.0 and SMS 2003, Windows 2000/2003,
Active Directory experience from an enterprise perspective.
Ability to script
Ability to understand and troubleshoot client and servers issues
using SMS logs
Consulting background and experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Excellent people and Interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly acclimate to a new project/team environment and be productive.
Desired Skills:
Strong SQL Server, VB skills

Candidate should have experience in a moderately complex, Windows based distributed environment across an enterprise WAN. Candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively work with Business users, technical staff, operations area in the collection and understanding of project critical information.
