SAP Business Application Manager - Business Warehouse / Business
Position Overview:
You will use your deep IT experience in SAP’s BW/BI technology to team with the Business Intelligence (BI) organization as well as functional business areas in the development and support of BI initiatives that focus on the effective development, deployment, and use of BW reporting and analytical tools.
Specific focus areas of development and support include the foundation architectural layers of BW to include Data Extraction and Transformation, Infocube Design and content management, and the Business Explorer information access toolset.
Key Responsibilities:
You will provide IT project leadership in conjunction with BI, BW and Business Leadership for scope, timeline, budget, and solution success as you follow and enforce an appropriate BW system development methodology.
BI/BW projects, enhancements, and ‘break-fix’ initiatives will require technical competency at one or more of the BW architecture layers. The Data Extraction and Transformation layer responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: identification and mapping of R/3 and non R/3 data sources based on business information requirements, development and modification of extractor tables and programs, and development of appropriate process chains.
From a Data architecture perspective, this position will be responsible for the design, construction, and activation of basic Infocubes, operational data stores, logical data models, and Multi Providers. You will have a holistic view of Master Data and it’s relation to the portfolio of subject area Infocubes. As it relates to the BW information access toolset, you will have an extensive in-depth knowledge in the use of the Business Explorer toolset to include, Browser, Analyzer, and Web Application Designer.
Based on business reporting and analytical requirements you will recommend the toolset most applicable to meeting those requirements. This position will also be required to conduct proactive performance management of the overall BW environment on a regular basis, to include patch and release currency, aggregate development, table portioning and compression.
REQUIREMENTS
Travel Percentage: 15%
A broad, practical, demonstrated hands-on knowledge of the BW architectural layers to include: Data Extraction and Transformation, Data Architecture, and Information Access toolset. Proven success in IT project management in concert with the application of a relevant system development methodology. You also have the ability to take and maintain an enterprise wide view of all functional business subject areas across all info providers. Working knowledge of SAP SEM, ADP, CRM Analytics is desirable.
