Job Description for SAP - ABAP Developer - San Francisco

Client Operations professionals are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients.
Key responsibilities may include: The role of the SAP ABAP Developer is mainly to design and develop custom objects in SAP. Primary responsibilities include: Participate in review of functional designs, business process designs to understand the scope of work, and then define the technical designs of SAP custom objects. Using ABAP, develop programs to satisfy custom designs and perform component testing of developed programs.

Detailed Responsibilities include:

• Analyze and review SAP functional design of custom objects in the areas of Plant Maintenance, or Material Management
• Develop technical designs that fit the functional designs and conform to the requirements
• Develop code according to technical designs
• Perform Unit and Assembly testing of code
• Work with the Development Lead, on an as needed basis, to ensure that design and code meet requirements.
• Participate in Design and Code Reviews
• Provide expertise to others when appropriate, to ensure high quality team deliverables
• Understand specific user functional areas of Utilities Plant Maintenance and Work Resource Management
• Apply appropriate technical, industry, and functional knowledge to all work efforts
• Produce complete and accurate documentation for work based on current documentation standards
• Effectively manage and control own tasks, able to supervise others performing similar tasks at an equal or lower level
• Understand how their work contributes to adding value and supports Accenture‘s mission, vision, and guiding principles
• Possess deep technical knowledge and skills related to SAP custom object programming, in ABAP, e.g; ALE/ IDOC, BAPIs / RFC, LSMW, BDC, Reports Lists/ ALV, Forms, Module Pool, DDIC, etc.
• Report weekly status to the relevant team leaders. Identifies problems and brings them to supervisor’s attention with sufficient lead time to avert crisis
• Identify changes in scope or work effort that could result in budgetary overrun or the missing of delivery dates
• Report time using Accenture time reporting systems and SDC timesheets in an accurate and timely manner consistent with project guidelines
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy and provides advice/escalates issues when team is faced with complex problems/issues
• Work effectively as part of a team and seek to support the team’s goals above individual goals
• Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with client and contractor personnel

REQUIREMENTS
Must have skills:
•ABAP development experience of 2-3 years minimum
•SAP Project Lifecycle experience with at least 1 project implementation
•ALE/ IDOC, BAPIs / RFC, LSMW, BDC, Reports Lists/ ALV, Forms, Module Pool
•Exposure to SAP functional areas of PM, MM
•SAP 4.6 + project experience
•Good oral and written communication skills
•Detailed / Technical design experience
•Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
•Experience with MS Office products including Access and Excel
•Structured Issue Analysis
•Experience with Software Development and Maintenance Methods
•Teamwork/Collaboration skills
