The primary responsibilities of the Relationship Assistant are: providing client service and support to Portfolio/Relationship Managers and their clients, cash management, client reporting and creating client presentations using market data/analytical software.Responsibilities:
Daily Cash Management
Examine Cash Projection reports to ensure that funds are available for pending trades. Invest cash balances according to bank guidelines.
Verify settlement of security transaction and monitor cash activity
Identify, report, and resolve overdraft situationsClient Directed Inquiries
Act as the primary client contact for fielding all non investment client related matters
Research and resolve all client inquiries
Prepare written correspondence regarding specific inquiriesPortfolio Accounting
Coordinate the funding of new accounts
Ensure the proper settlement of all security transactions. Identify and direct the investigation of any trade settlement exceptions.Trading
Place unsolicited trade orders as directed by Relationship/Portfolio Manager
Gifting ? Prepare preliminary tax lot material, process stock transfer instruction, Execute trade or delivery
Verify that all funds transfer requests are completed in a timely manner while adhering to stringent bank proceduresGeneral
Provide backup for one or more Relationship Assistants during absences
Obtain client responses on voluntary actions and forward to BBH Corporate Actions Department
Research and resolve client billing issues
Research and resolve performance discrepancies
Create client presentations using market data/analytical software
Handle special projects and individual assignments as needed.Qualifications:
Four year college degree
One to four years of relevant experience
Series 7 and 66 are required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Knowledge of Microsoft applications
General understanding of respective security markets
Understanding of security operations (brokerage, clearance, settlement)
Knowledge of asset management accounting
Understanding of Portfolio Performance Measurement
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to follow up on assignments
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
