QA Engineer-Stable Platforms

Responsible for delivering GA quality code. Work closely with Support dept. in finding bug trends and take necessary steps to address holes in test plans based on the bug trends. Work with Support dept. and analyze typical customer topologies, cross-features used, deployments, tools and applications, and feed that back into QA test beds/plans. Read and present SW design documents, write and present QA test plans for new features. Write Minimal Acceptance Test criteria for new features. Document results of testing in Quality Report. Validate automation scripts written by automation group. Write new automation scripts. Find ways to improve customer experience by suggesting methods to improve/enhance instrumentation, User Interface, installation, upgradeability, etc. Be involved in definition of new features during design phase by giving customer perspective.

Job Requirements (skills and qualifications)
Requires minimum of 3 years experience with networking technologies and routing protocols (TCP/IP, L2/L3 filtering, HTTP, RIP, OSPF, QoS, CIFS, MAPI, IPSEC) with at least 1 year providing QA testing for networking products (i.e. routers, switches). Familiarity with SNMP, Radius. Requires strong expertise in one or more of the following: TCL/Expect, PERL, C or other scripting languages. Requires hands-on device configuration and testing of networking systems, including switches, routers, load balancers, firewalls, web caches. Requires experience testing in a Windows environment, Unix experience is a plus Experience troubleshooting in a real-time OS environment from a QA perspective is a plus. Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. BSCS or EE required, MSCS preferred.
