QA Engineer

Summary:
This QA Engineering position will perform Quality Assurance testing and ensure the quality and integrity of solutions created by the BRMS software development team. The QA Engineer is responsible for the creation and execution of QA test plans that ensure the highest possible levels of quality. This role will work within a team comprised of QA engineers, business analysts, software developers, and product management staff to execute test strategies and test environments including appropriate test users and test data. This role will be expected to fully understand software design, Microsoft .NET technology, and implement a test plan that appropriately exercises that design. The QA Engineer must be an expert in Software Quality Assurance and able to clearly communicate concepts to other team members.

Duties:
QA project management duties, estimating testing time, developing reusable test strategies, producing, and managing test plans
Developing test scripts/plans within aggressive time schedules for various types of testing, including but not limited to: usability, grammar/spelling, functional, load, regression, etc.
Troubleshooting and verifying bugs and errors reported by clients, post-launch
Updating testing scripts/plans based on bugs and changes/upgrades to the applications/software
Communicating testing results to development team members
Working with development team members to find the causes of programming errors
Following-through to ensure that bugs are corrected and verified
Making recommendations in regard to long-term development of the Quality Assurance process, workflow, and selection of QA testing tools and standards
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science or equivalent experience
At least 5 years experience in Software Quality Assurance for commercial applications
Experience with programming and/or scripting languages and understanding of software development and software quality lifecycles
Experience with web-based system architecture and configuration
Experience in the use of automated testing tools
Strong analytical and technical skills
Experience in writing quality assurance documents (test plans, test cases, test coverage reports, test metrics, policies and procedures)

Desirable:
Familiarity and/or experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe, Microsoft SQL Server, and other Microsoft development and testing tools highly desirable
Programming experience with C#, .NET applications, or Visual Basic, and/or similar Java development
Risk/Compliance Management or Insurance/Financial Services background
