Programmer Analyst A- Intranet Applications team
The Walgreen Company is the Nation's leading drug store chain with more than 5000 stores. With over 425 store openings per year, Walgreens will operate over 7000 stores by year 2010. The Pharmacy Intranet Applications team is responsible for developing and maintaining Walgreens pharmacy Intranet portal and web applications. This position is for an experienced, highly motivated individual, who is willing to work in team environment.
Responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include gathering user requirements, conducting analysis, developing functional and technical design/ solutions, coding, testing, implementing and supporting web-based applications. Understand Walgreens Architecture framework/tools, and develop a system that is maintainable and scalable with high performance. Utilize object-oriented analysis and design methodology to develop high quality reliable system that meets business requirements.
Work with multiple IT groups in Walgreens and follow Walgreens development standards and documentation procedures. Develop project plans and assess risks early and develop action items to address them. Utilizes tools in Java to perform automated testing.
Qualifications:
Computer Science degree with 3 to 5 years of work experience, as a programmer/Analyst in application development. Strong analytical and Technical skills. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong in Java (J2EE) technologies including Java batch jobs. Experience in development using Oracle, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, C, C++, XML and reporting tools, such as Business Objects. Experience with Enterprise Application Integration tools such as Ab Initio is highly desirable. Experience in multiple full life cycle application development projects is required
