Portal Administrator

Purpose: Portal Administrator Responsible for the development and release strategy of the site in collaboration with the divisions and teams. Handle systems administration functions including performance tuning, troubleshooting and upgrade and patch application. Evaluate and report on web traffic metrics. Monitor site traffic and help scale site capacity to meet traffic demands performance. Research, evaluate and oversee deployment of portal related software tools, enhancements and system upgrades. Provide technical support, troubleshoot, monitor and maintain the enterprise portal related to hardware and software. Work closely with teams in order to implement various .NET and other web-related technologies. Report regular status updates on performance and effectiveness of site. Prioritizing which issues deserve immediate attention and have significant impact and taking action to resolve any portal or business systems problems. Prioritizing and organizing workloads in order to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Provide direction and support to content editors. Collaborate across teams to decide on the development and release strategy of the site.



Knowledge of developing, implementing and maintaining portal products (e.g. WebShere or Hummingbird). Plumtree portal knowledge is ideal.



Knowledge of general development and/or specialized development within the Microsoft .NET Framework



General Knowledge of a variety of technologies such as Microsoft .NET, visual Basic, SQL, Active Server Pages, Active Directory and Windows 2000/2003 server.



Knowledge of source control software (MS Source Safe, Source Gear Vault, etc.) and change management processes.



Knowledge of project management, application development analysis and project report skills



Knowledge of application development methodologies.



This individual should have strong analytical, learning and customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team. Adept at solving problems and finding quick and creative solutions to meet customer needs and an attention to detail.
