Point Of Sale (POS) Technician - FT: MN - Minneapolis/Corporate

POS Technician Overview of Position:This position repairs and installs Point-Of-Sale and related equipment in Macys stores. Key Accountabilities: Troubleshoots and maintains Point-Of-Sale and related electronic equipment. Responsible for the performance of preventative maintenance programs, installation of computer equipment, and inventory documentation. Place, ship, and receive orders. Relate issues to departmental management as well as store personnel and management. Trains store personnel on the care and use of the equipment maintained by Electronic Maintenance. Special projects such as register upgrades or replacements are customary and may require travel. Skills Summary: Ability to identify/troubleshoot and repair electronic/mechanical related problems on POS devices, printers and CRTs. Ability to read use testing equipment (DVMs, Oscilloscopes, etc.) Ability to read schematics and solder. Strong customer focus and a sense of urgency. Must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with other Electronic Maintenance personnel and Store Management. A valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation is required. Ability to read and interpret documents to ensure policy and procedure compliance. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while on the telephone and through email.
