PeopleSoft HRMS/HCM Technical Analyst
Purpose: Technical Analyst Our client is seeking an experienced PeopleSoft HRMS/HCM Technical Analyst to be a team member of our project to consolidate PeopleSoft payroll systems. This role is mostly technical, but ability to work as a functional resource is a necessity for the initial part of the assignment.
This role will involve converting our clients Peoplesoft 8.3 (Mainframe) to 8.8 (Unix). Strong communication skills is a must!
Responsibilities:
As a member of the project technical team, you will be responsible for coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and installation tasks for on-line and batch processes in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards within the PeopleSoft 8.8 environment.
Develop and document specifications using Systems Development Life Cycle methodology.
Work with the business process team and user community to investigate gaps between business needs and current system functionality, research and recommend suitable alternatives and then utilize the PeopleSoft tool sets to provide integrated solutions.
Participate in the analysis of project work efforts defining tasks and estimating level of effort.
Review and evaluate proposed systems designs and participate in peer reviews of designs and code.
Mentor and transfer knowledge to other members of the staff.
Assist with data conversion and technical activities for the PeopleSoft HR and Payroll consolidation project.
Qualifications:
Strong PeopleSoft programming skills with a minimum 3 years of hands-on technical experience, preferably in an 8.x environment.
In depth experience implementing, upgrading, and supporting PeopleSoft HR & payroll applications.
Good knowledge of system analysis, logic diagramming, testing, debugging, system software, hardware computer operations and documentation standards.
Technical proficiency with UNIX, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, and SQR. Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, ASP, PERL, COBOL, UNIX scripting and other PeopleSoft software tools are a plus.
Experience with relational database technologies, preferably DB2/UDB.
Experience in mainframe COBOL/DB2 a strong plus.
Strong experience in the full life cycle of the development process, including requirement definition, prototyping, programming, testing and implementation.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in teams.
Ability to demonstrate expanded analytical and problem solving skills.
Must be able to handle confidential information and exercise discretionary judgment.
Work requires strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with diverse groups of people.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong personal time management skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple task assignments.
