ESS (Enterprise Shared Services) IT, one of the seven global streams within UBS Investment Bank’s IT group, develops and supports technology for areas of the firm related to logistics, business control and overall operations. With a full slate of major, global projects, and business stakeholders in several mission-critical functions including Finance, Risk Management, Legal, and HR, ESS IT provides a dynamic, uniquely rewarding work environment and excellent opportunities for candidates to gain broad insight into the operations of an investment bank. ESS IT has experienced significant growth over the past two years, expanding to over 1,200 staff members and a budget of approximately $200M annually. Although ESS IT staff are primarily located in London, Stamford/New York, Zurich, and Singapore, ESS IT is responsible for delivering change programs with a truly global reach and which often span multiple UBS businesses including UBS Wealth Management & UBS Global Asset Management.ESS IT is leading a number of important cross-functional programs and change management efforts that have significant impact on the IT landscape within UBS and the investment banking industry at large. These include, but are not limited to, strategic redesign of our Global Payments infrastructure, Client Management initiatives, and our enhancement of our Credit and Market Risk portfolios. We continue to pursue an aggressive change portfolio offering challenge and opportunity to our employees and are actively seeking new talent to support our growth strategy.The PMO Support Analyst is an important role supporting numerous project activities that span ESS IT. The individual needs to be a self-starter, be comfortable communicating with all levels of staff, from peers to senior management, and will need to have drive and initiative to accomplish tasks.The individual will be responsible for gathering data from across ESS IT, consolidating it, performing analysis and reporting the information in accordance with pre-defined formats (e.g., spreadsheets and PowerPoints) and within the established deadlines. The role will mainly consist of: To work with the other PMO analysts to ensure that data is collected and reported as and when needed to support ESS IT and corporate reporting requirements. As there often urgent “ad-hoc” requirements initiated in the London time-zone, this individual will need to ensure that requests are timely reviewed and appropriately prioritized in order to meet management deadlines. Reporting requested may be in the form of data, spreadsheets, presentations and other deliverables. To maintain the website and ensure information is current, informative, well organized so it is easily located, and aesthetically pleasing. To work with complex spreadsheets and have advanced knowledge of excel including pivot charts, graphing, formulae, macros, etc. Providing central point-of-contact for Stamford staff regarding PMO activities and coordinate with staff as needed to follow up on open action items and deliverables. To design effective and aesthetic presentations, consistent with standard UBS formats, to highlight significant items using visually pleasing and effective charts, graphs, pictures, formats, etc. , and present data in a meaningful fashion. To maintain key data, deliverables, etc. on the website or share drive in an organized method to ensure that other deliverables will be able to leverage work already done.
Preferred Qualifications:
As this role is focused on Information Technology within an Investment Banking environment, candidates who come from this background will be able to add value to the team more swiftly. This is not, however, a prerequisite. Training will be provided in the relevant regulatory aspects of IT Operational Risk and the appropriate tools and technologies.
