PC SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (5649)

Under close direction, assist in providing customer contact and resolve routine, non-complex customer problems with designated product line(s) on the customer site. Communicate with internal technical or customer service personnel to determine nature of problem to implement procedures to resolve customer problem. Document problem and troubleshooting procedures. Attend training sessions to achieve a higher level of technical skill. Attend on-going training sessions to achieve a higher level of technical skill. A High school diploma or equivalent and four to five years of relevant experience are required.
REQUIREMENTS
This is an ideal opportunity for a recent grad from a technical school to gain on the job experience in a PC Support Technician role. You will be responsible for providing quality desktop support to all PC desktop users at the Army Research Laboratory, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. You will provide first level analysis and problem resolution at the desktop level, record problem tickets and resolution for support requests. Main responsibilities include:

•Troubleshoot hardware and software issues with Win2000 and XP operating systems
• Troubleshoot Software issues with Windows based products. Outlook, Word, Excel, Antivirus, etc.
•Install and configure workstations or Laptop for supported clients.
•Document policies and procedures related to the operation of Desktops.

Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Experience Required:
To be successful in this position you must be a strong team player, with ability to work unsupervised, possessing excellent customer service skills. Must have excellent phone/communication skills with ability to communicate to users technical information in an easy to understand form. Knowledge of PC hardware, PC software and PC/Network arena. 2-3 years experience in IT and/or computer operations. Problem solving skills are a must.
