Oracle10g DBA

Purpose: A large contracting organization is seeking an Oracle 10g DBA to support a multi-million dollar county project. This is a contract position which will run through May 2007 with the potential to go permanent.

Ideal candidate will:

*Perform complex database administration assignments essential to the production and development of Oracle database management systems (DBMS) applications.

*Work on assignments, which are in direct support of software development and maintenance teams, include database analysis, security support, design, software use, and performance monitoring and tuning.

*Review and ensure integrity via standardized support tools. Ensure that assignments are performed in accordance with database administration guidelines, standards and procedures for applications development, implementation, testing, and migration.

*Evaluate and recommend use of software, guidelines, and procedures. Evaluate and develop project plans. Provide DBMS expertise to other groups as requested.

* Act independently to determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments and may supervise or provide guidance to other personnel.

*Regularly interact with senior or executive management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.


DESIRED SKILLS: Experience administering Oracle databases using the Data Guard product.
