We are a preferred IT/Engineering staffing firm seeking the following qualified professional for a leading global semiconductor company:
Position Title: Database Engineer

Project Description:
The project stress tests the automation suite for Intel's latest manufacturing process. This automation suite consists of several databases which have to be stress tested as well. As a result, database tuning and strategy optimizations are expected. The final database configuration determined will be proliferated into Production.

Daily Responsibilities:
Understand data model and database growth pattern based upon application characteristics and observing from daily test executions, identify and isolate db bottlenecks and tune db as required, create db backup/restore/recovery strategies and perform as required, document all tasks worked on.
REQUIREMENTS


Years of Experience Desired: 5+ years Senior level experience
Necessary Skills (Must Have):

1. Strong expertise in Oracle 8i/9i/10g - engineer AND administration.
2. Expert at database sizing, stored procedures, triggers, schema design using E-R models, rollback segments sizing/tuning, redolog sizing, Disk Layout Sizing, identifying bottlenecks, and performance tuning using STATSPACK reports. (PLEASE NOTE: RESUME MUST SHOW EXPERIENCE IN THIS AREA)
3. Also, fast loading mechanisms, running large/long queries/reports against the db. 4. Ability to evaluate infrastructure for uptime and performance.
5. Familiar with Physical Standby and Replication DB technologies.
6. In-depth working expertise on Windows and HP-UX servers.
7. SQL Server DB experience is also required.

Additional Skills Desired: Knowledge of Windows OS, UNIX, Windows/Unix in a clustered environment, Hardware, Networking and Storage (SAN) in order to troubleshoot issues across all layers of infrastructure and perform Systems Engineering.
