Maintain the integrity, security, and performance of the PBM DSS database operating environment.



Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot and tune multiple Oracle databases running on Solaris or AIX. Administer databases through full application life cycle: development, testing, and production. Perform database logical and physical design. Provide requirements definitions and hands on production support for backup/recovery procedures. Provide the full spectrum of development and production database support for vendor supplied systems.

Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be self-motivated and be able to grasp functional concepts quickly. Excellent verbal and writing skills required. Must be able to work independently and participate as a member of a cross-functional team. Must be equally conversant in both OLTP and DSS/DW implementations.
B.S. in Computer Science or other technical degree or equivalent work experience required. 7-10 years of post-graduate experience in IT, 3+ years as an application developer/data modeler/development DBA, 4+ years as an Oracle DBA. Data architecture, systems integration, database design, data modeling, application SQL and database tuning, space management, database monitoring, and RMAN backup/recovery experience required. Working knowledge of AIX and Solaris operating systems a plus.
