Act as the Technical lead for our Enterprise Middleware environment, by developing process and procedures, which increase the over-all efficiency of the systems, which centers on overall uptime, availability, reliability, performance, management, reduction of Total Cost of Operation, disaster recovery procedures and product integration.
Provide support to the project teams as required to ensure the success of the projects. Take responsibility and provide recommendations for improvements and be available for consultation on project plans. Meet Project Plan timelines - Take a lead role in providing system planning, designing, installations, building code to environments, participating in testing activities & other activities for projects under direct responsibility.
High-level strategic planning. Participate in the definition of the middleware architecture and strategies related to product design, implementations and integrations. Identify weak links in the infrastructure and propose changes that enhance its overall effectiveness.
Act as a subject matter expert for development team by assisting them with the day-to-day technical aspects for the environment.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with 2 years of experience in webmethods, GXS &/or other Java Administration role.
Minimum 2 yrs of experience in Oracle DBA in an Enterprise Environment w/maintaining systems and environments
Minimum 3 yrs of experience working in Enterprise Environments as a development or support contributor with 1 yrs experience of planning & implementing complex systems in Enterprise environments
Experience in various aspects of designing, implementing & maintaining Enterprise level webmethods, GXS &/or web systems & environments
Experience with IT strategic project planning & exposure to project management methodologies
Working knowledge of BEA Weblogic 8.1 running Apache & Single Sign On/LDAP on Sun Solaris
Expert knowledge of middleware systems - strategic & tactical planning
Proficiency in EAI toolsets
Advanced working knowledge of webmethods 6.5 on Sun Solaris
Experience & working knowledge of GXS toolset
Working knowledge of Unix Scripting languages, additional scripting languages highly desirable
Ability to implement & support complex enterprise environments
Understanding of quality & process improvement preferably having led or participated in efforts
Excellent customer service & communications skills
Strong process knowledge
Able to work independently & a strong Team player
Excellent business operations knowledge
Able to work effectively in fast paced environment
Ability & proven track record to learn additional technologies/tools & support the team as required
This position participates in an on-call rotation
