Oracle Database Administrator

Purpose: Responsible for installing, administering, tuning and maintenance of various enterprise and workgroup databases. Responsible for backup and recovery procedures for corporate databases. Assist in the logical and physical design of databases. Assist in the creation of triggers, packages, functions and procedures. Responsible for assisting in the conversion of legacy corporate systems to enterprise relational database systems. Responsible for ensuring database security and integrity. Strong experience with data warehousing essential. Assist with projects and on-call as required. Must understand the impact, risks, implications and costs of recommendations. Assist in providing direction and training to others as required. Travel to remote sites may be required.
Perform data base tuning and maintenance including patches for both Oracle and SQL Server.
Perform UNIX and Linux administration.
Participate in the development process.
Responsible for data base backup and recovery.
Responsible for data modeling from logical to physical models.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.
Oracle Certified Data Base Administrator (10G preferred).
Eight years minimum experience as an Oracle DBA.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Retail industry experience is a plus.
Expert Knowledge on Oracle 10G running on RAC environment and Oracle Application Server 10G including Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Single Sign On (SSO).
Strong experience with data modeling and engineering
Strong experience with UNIX, Linux, Shell Programming, PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, Oracle tools and utilities essential.
Good understanding of Oracle backup such as RMAN.
