Operations Applications Developer

Responsibilities: Our client is seeking an Operations Applications Developer. This individual will work with various levels within the user community and IT Department to implement business requirements, design system functionality, and develop appropriate software solutions to business needs. This person must have the ability to logically analyze business problems and develop software solutions in a T-SQL and Perl environment. Solid Perl and T-SQL skills are a must! This requires analysis through design, programming, and implementation. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously is required. This person will develop operations batch jobs using Perl and T-SQL, creating Technical Specifications including definition of all necessary database enhancements and Perl script modifications. This person must have an understanding business processes and defining system requirements to support these processes; and be responsible for creating and maintaining all batch processing jobs that support a mission critical system. This person must have an understanding systems development methodologies used to implement system requirements. Extensive knowledge and experience developing stored procedures and triggers in MS SQL Server environment is required. Candidates must have the ability to identify potential problems with existing software and provide constructive feedback to improve existing software and development processes, ensuring that proposed system changes effectively support users requirements. .Net/C# skills are a plus, but the client will train.
