Network Server & Applications Administrator

Reports To: Network Server & Applications ManagerThis is technical position responsible for maintaining server hardware and software, including general installation and setup of new equipment, configuration, burn in, and final installation in the production environment.Responsibilities will include serving as a liaison between Network team and Help Desk in the maintenance of the network client environment to ensure customer satisfaction. Salary Range: $50s based on the qualifications and experienceResponsibilities:Maintain server hardware and software, including general installation and setup, configuration, burn in, and final installation in the production environment. Provide assistance for network and LAN room projects dealing with all aspects of hardware installation. Assist in maintaining of LAN Room equipment and cabling in order. Implement basic administration of Active directory and Microsoft Back Office Products: Exchange, SQL Server, IIS, and others upon necessity under close supervision of network managers. This may include giving access to local resources to the domain users and groups, deletion of expired computer accounts, creation of DHCP scopes, restart services, and others. Create and maintain network printers on print servers. Troubleshoot network related client printing problems. Cooperate with Help Desk and Office Manager Team in support for Toshiba, Minolta copier-scanners connected to CI network. Serve as a liaison between Network team and Help Desk providing support during migration to new client Operating Systems and software. Participate in software testing analyzing impact of new software on CI network. Handover knowledge received during such testing to other members of Support team to ensure customer satisfactionQualifications:EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GEDREQUIRED SKILLS & CAPABILITIES: Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows 2000/2003 servers, and Windows 2000/XP Workstations. Working technical knowledge of Active Directory and TCP/IP networking. Good technical knowledge of current server and network hardware and standards. Familiarity with Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003, Microsoft SQL server, IIS. Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office. Strong knowledge of popular Windows PC software programs, including Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, etc. Ability to work effectively in project teams, good written and oral communication skill in dealing with all levels of staff, and display superior problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical instructions to users with varying levels of computer skillsFamiliarity with Citrix MetaFrame Server Suite 4.0, and fluency in one or more foreign languages, especially Spanish or Portuguese, is a plus.
