Network Analyst I/II - NOC
Min Pay Annually: $41,800.00
Min Pay Hourly: $20.10Job Description: Respond to NOC OSS alerts in a timely manner and initiate network element system/subsystem interaction to restore network service. Coordinate the resolution with specific operating company field personnel, NOC management team, and vendor support teams. Make decisions and take actions to prevent network interruptions and service degradation. Provide Tier-2 technical support for all assigned technologies supporting digital switching, SONET, and/or analog telephony products. Analyze switch messages, perform equipment diagnostics, follow vendor-troubleshooting procedures, and take corrective actions based on analytical results to ensure uninterrupted network service. Provide technical support to field personnel pertaining to vendor specific hardware, software, and applications. Provide technical and analytical support in determining the root cause of network problems and implement action plans based on Alltel policies and/or guidelines, and NOC departmental processes and procedures. Communicate service and technical information to NOC support personnel, customers, vendors, and other support centers. Utilize NOC support subsystems and produce accurate trouble tickets and activity reports..Minimum Requirements: Two years experience plus formal training with at least one of the following network elements: Nortel DMS10/DMS100 family products, Stromberg/Siemens DCO, EWSD; Lucent 5ESS; Lucent Auto-Plex; Nortel SL-1 PBX; SS7 STP; SONET; ATM; DSC; AGCS GTD-5; Frame Relay or related field. Ability to attend and successfully complete technical courses, both on and off site. Must be able to travel occasionally and work a flexible schedule to accommodate 24x7x365 coverage requirements. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and excellent verbal/written communication skills. Must be customer focused, a team player, and a self-starter. Have a very good working knowledge of telecommunications networks, systems, power and grounding systems, and general knowledge of the Public Switched Telephone Network architecture.Education: Associate Degree in Electronics and 4-6 years electronics experience with 4+ year directly
related to the job and 2+ years of digital experience. College hours or a college degree may
be substituted for some experience as deemed appropriate.Certificates/Licenses: Proof of advanced formal training on at least one of the following network elements: Nortel DMS10/100/200/250/500; Stromberg/Siemens DCO, EWSD; Lucent 5ESS; Lucent Auto-Plex; Nortel SL-1 PBX; SS7 STP; SONET; ATM; DSC; AGCS GTD-5; Frame Relay or related field.There is no relocation package offered for this position.
