.NET / SQL Server Developer

SkilGroup, Inc. is in immediate need of a .NET/SQL Server Developer. The Consultant will develop custom research / investment management applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET and MS Reporting Services interacting with MS SQL 2005. Other responsibilities include: develop a strong understanding of vendor applications; configure and customize vendor applications as necessary to meet project goals; integrate vendor applications with internal environment; participate in the full system development lifecycle including high level design, detailed design, test planning, construction, deployment planning, testing, deployment, and post deployment support; and provide one on one support as end users transition to the new research platform. This is a 12-24 month contract for a client located in the Chicago loop. LOCAL candidates only, please!
REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must have 5 + years of development experience and a strong MS SQL background, including solid MS Reporting Services (with SQL Server 2005 preferred) skills with projects involving significant customization. Other skills must include: strong testing experience, strong knowledge of object oriented concepts, solid .NET experience, and some exposure to VB.NET. Candidates must have the ability to work on technical projects with little or no supervision, paying close attention to details and have excellent problem solving and analytical skills with a high level of commitment and enthusiasm. We are looking for individuals with strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work directly with end users. Financial services experience preferred, FactSet experience is highly desirable and a Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
