.NET Lead Developer

Purpose: TEKsystems has partnered with our client in Harleysville, PA to help fill their need for a .NET Developer. This is a permanent position with the client.

Description:
The candidate will be responsible for the design and development of web applications and services to support agents, consumers, and internal users. Must have a solid understanding of how web services interact between multiple platforms and technologies. Will be working with a team to build a well-designed multi-tier system that allows future flexibility and scalability as well as a framework that will support future web services development. Will be expected to help mentor other developers new to Microsoft .NET technologies.

Candidate will work with internal customers throughout the Software Development Lifecycle. Develop applications according to business specifications. Provide support for existing web applications, automated procedures, and solutions as needed. Create and/or maintain support documentation including system documentation. Provide operation/production monitoring and problem resolution. Provide application administration and maintenance, such as performance tuning, capacity planning, security monitoring, software upgrades and data cleaning. Evaluate vendor web applications while providing guidance to business for adherence to IT architecture standards. Assist in technology and application planning and conduct technology assessments. Assist in creating and maintaining a test environment for web application and systems testing. Perform web application testing including developing test plans, scripts, and results documentation; backup and recovery including disaster recovery and on and off site. Ensure delivery of quality support/services and provide recommendations for continuous improvements.

Required Skills:
. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.
. 6-8 or more years experience in web application development using Microsoft C#, VB .NET, ASP.NET and related technologies.
. Experienced in web application evaluation, testing, configuration and implementation.
. Advanced knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 operating systems and client-server operations.
. Troubleshooting of ASP and/or .NET Framework related issues.

Additional Skills:
. Microsoft Visual Studio Team System experience preferred.
. IIS 5.0 or 6.0 administration, planning, and deployment knowledge a strong plus.
. SQL 2000/2005 administration, planning, and deployment experience a strong plus.
. Relational database experience using Microsoft SQL 2000/2005 and query tools, including stored procedures, DTS and database security is a plus.
. Property and Casualty Insurance experience highly desirable.
