Mid-level Data Engineer

Part of the Data Engineering Group, this person will work with developers and our customer in defining the data architecture in support of the new version of GCSS software. Work with UNIX system administrators to set up development suites in our lab. Perform data modeling; write PL/SQL queries; provide advice/guidance on best practices for data aggregation/mediation. Use of data modeling tools, performance tuning and geographic information system (GIS) data.



You will work in a fast-paced environment to support developers and UNIX system administrators. Opportunity exists to learn new technology and to expand your skills. Responsibilities include data modeling, developing a logical data design, physical database layout, addressing data integrity, developing access controls, planning security measures, creating and testing back-ups, ensuring maximum performance, work closely with software developers and engineers.

REQUIREMENTS


This position requires an active DoD SECRET clearance. You MUST HAVE either a current SECRET clearance or the ability to easily obtain one to be eligible for this position.

- B.S. degree required (engineering preferred) with 5 years of experience working on a large data engineering project.
