Mid-Level Network Administrator

MSD is an employee-owned company of over 600 professionals who support the diverse technical, scientific, and administrative needs of the Federal government. We are currently searching for an experienced Mid-Level Network Administrator to support one of our clients. This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and on site in Washington, DC.

The Network Administrator will work on-site in LAN support at the Bureau of Labor Statistics to assist network engineers in maintaining LAN/WAN connectivity, communicating with the telco providor to resolve line issues, maintain master data line inventory and resolve network problems.
REQUIREMENTS
Perform all aspects of the installation, maintenance and usage of a large-scale local/wide area network. Manages network performance and maintains security. Executes test procedures to assess systems performance, identify and troubleshoot difficult or unusual problems, and analyze results for the implementation of system upgrades. Assumes a technical leadership role as required. Monitors server resource allocation/utilization and performs capacity planning. Maintains expertise with, and advises management on, current technologies.

Must Haves:
Four or more years experience in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer network, including technical leadership or supervisory role. Four or more years experience in a large organization responsible for deploying computer system applications in a client/server network environment such as using SMS 2003. Thorough knowledge of computer network telecommunications, Windows operating systems (Active Directory, GPO, DNS), and the TCP/IP protocol. Thorough knowledge of scripting languages and tools. Thorough knowledge of network management protocols and related standard tools. Thorough knowledge of network-based application software such as Exchange 2003. Thorough knowledge of telecommunications, network, and computer security issues and established security practices. Four or more years experience troubleshooting network problems and providing solutions. At least two year in testing and implementing PC/LAN technologies and computer system applications. At least two years networking administration experience in a large organization or corporation.

Educational Qualifications:
