SOFTWARE ENGINEERS San Luis Obispo (Job#3048) Silicon Valley-based SRI International (www.sri.com) is one of the worldÕs leading independent research and technology development organizations. We are seeking talented individuals to become part of our software development team in our San Luis Obispo office. As part of the team, you will engage in cutting-edge software development efforts in support of ongoing projects managed from the SRI Engineering & Systems Division (www.sri.com/esd), a multidisciplinary engineering group dedicated to development and application of operationally effective systems. We perform a variety of engineering research, systems engineering, testing, and integration services for commercial and government clients worldwide. Clients include the Department of Defense (U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and Joint Services), the Department of Transportation, local government agencies, and domestic and international commercial companies. Staff in SRIÕs San Luis Obispo office are part of the Software Engineering and Development team within the Engineering & Systems Division. As part of this team, your assigned tasks may include, but are not limited to, software design and development for applications involving data analysis and processing, graphical user interfaces, database programming, network programming, embedded programming, hardware control, and mapping. Successful applicants will have experience in Java and C/C++ with Java expertise in the areas of Networking, Swing and/or SWT, Multithreading, and JNI. Applicants should have familiarity with XML, Ant, CVS/Subversion, Servlets/Tomcat, SQL and IDEs such as IntelliJ or Eclipse. Familiarity with Cisco networking, embedded Linux programming and/or Micorsoft .NET/COM is a plus. A BS/MS degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related area is required. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is mandatory.
