The benefits of working at Capital include interesting work, exceptional colleagues, a comfortable workplace, competitive salaries and bonuses, and health and life benefits from day one.The Market Data Technical Specialist plays a key role in the implementation and maintenance of financial market data products and services to help support Capital's investment management activities. These products are essential tools such as desktop and networked applications, data feeds, databases and analytical software used directly by investment associates including portfolio managers/counselors, analysts and traders. In this position, you will liaise between investment group associates, members of the eServices team and technical staff (internal and external vendors) to coordinate implementations, upgrades, training and other support activities. Other responsibilities include: project management, facilitating meetings, product evaluations, assisting with problem analysis and troubleshooting of technical issues, vendor contract review/analysis and negotiation.Qualifications
Demonstrated project leadership skills and experience managing technical projects involving desktop, network, and telecomm technologies underlying services and applications
Familiarity with desktop and networked applications, data feeds, databases and analytical software, including those used by investment professionals (e.g. Reuters, Bloomberg, FactSet) is highly preferred.
Must be a proactive, self-motivated individual with strong initiative and desire to succeed in a challenging environment requiring multitasking and frequently shifting priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with an array of internal and external associates and clients
Vendor relationship management experience, including problem resolution and ensuring service levels are met
Must be highly responsive in incident management including facilitation of a resolution and communication of status
