Manager of Systems

Premier Princeton NJ based educational and research institution seeks Manager of Systems to be responsible for all systems throughout the Institution.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
* Oversight of the management of systems in each of the Schools, Programs and Administration, to ensure the quality of computing services and user support throughout the Institute.

* Overall responsibility for the architecture and future direction of systems and telecommunications at the Institute and for coordination of computing and telecommunications activities on campus.

* Chair and facilitator of the Strategic Planning Committee for systems and telecommunications, working with computing staff members and senior administrative staff on long range planning and operational issues and consulting with faculty on computing initiatives.

* Working collaboratively with faculty in the Schools, will be responsible for hiring and managing senior staff members, including providing guidance and support to these managers and indirectly, their staff members.

* Budgetary responsibility for Systems at the Institute.


Qualifications:
* Demonstrated significant management and leadership experience required, with substantial involvement in managing and consulting with diverse groups. Should have a solid academic orientation; substantial experience at a university or educational institution strongly preferred.

* Must have a broad technical systems background with demonstrated capabilities in networking, security, telecommunications, databases and high performance computing. Solid experience with UNIX ,MS Windows, and programming required. Network design and management experience desired. Prior work experience in telecommunications desired

* Position requires strong communication and consensus building skills.

* Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
