POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is charged with managing Rockwell Collins' portal presence, collaboration technologies, overall web delivery vehicles, and ensuring standardization in web content. Principle activities include establishing and maintaining enterprise portal strategies, managing Portal COTS relationships with vendors, ensuring consistent service levels, operating cost effective collaboration technologies between RC and its partners, driving out key projects and managing a mid-sized team. Position will also be accountable for achieving project, budget, and enterprise support goals and metrics.
Other focus areas:
Responsible for operating and driving effective search technologies for RC data.
Update, educate, and enforce branding standards, web content management philosophies, portal documentation requirements, and Rockwell Collins' Solution Delivery Process.
Educate, advertise and energize the organization on where we are going and why it is important.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinates with other IT leadership to provide business focused information technology solutions.
Ensures the appropriate selection and utilization of an portal and collaboration COTS products that enable integration and seemless navigation within RC's portal environment
Provides coordination and direction for the analysis, design, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of internally developed business applications.
Participates in the requirements definition and selection of application packages and off-the-shelf software components.
Provides leadership for the integration of purchased software and components into the application architecture.
Participates in the evaluation, selection and deployment of application development tools.
Maintains a high level of technical/professional staff through effective recruiting, training and development.
Champions change to align organization with IT and business strategy.
Monitors project activity to insure conformance with specification, budgets and schedules.
Operates in accordance with Corporate and Rockwell Collins policies and practices and in compliance with accepted business ethics.
Ensures thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to Standards of Business Conduct and trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

Annual Operating Budget: $0.5 - $1.5 M
Number of Subordinates: Programmer Analysts: 8-12
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or equivalent plus 8 years directly related experience. MBA preferred
Must be results oriented with demonstrated ability to motivate and communicate effectively.
General knowledge and experience with the assigned business domain and related applications.
Very effective communication and networking skills required
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have significant experience leading web development, publishing, and site management with a minimum of two to three years experience performing in the role of intranet development manager, intranet systems analyst, strategist, or similar in a corporate environment.
Strong understanding of how web technologies can be applied in an Enterprise corporate environment to boost productivity and enhance the employee experience.
Strong understanding of Enterprise level information and data systems in a corporate environment.
Strong understanding of Enterprise level processes in a corporate environment.
Understanding of tools and technologies associated with web development and administration.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of specifically related experience including supervisory, management or project management.
