Manager, Interactive Media

United Way of Metropolitan Chicago (UWMC), a community-based organization dedicated to improving lives throughout the region is currently seeking a talented Interactive Media Manager. The Interactive Media Manager position is integral to our success in creating sustained changes for people and communities in need. As the Manager of Interactive Media you will serve as chief content developer and editor of interactive Public Relations communications products, which includes Campaign Leaders Newsletter, donor email campaigns, and the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and Member United Way websites.

Additional responsibilities include the following:

• Developing electronic communications strategy to make the United Way web presence robust, compelling, interactive and informative.

• Executing the strategy, developing concepts and content for web and other electronic communications.

• Serving as infrastructure and content manager of the United Way websites, the home page www.uw-mc.org and Member United Way websites, proposing and launching website innovations and upgrades and producing e-communication reports to track program progress.

• Converting print publications to interactive e-media vehicles that are consistent with United Way messaging and branding.

• Managing relationships, budgets and contracts with web and interactive vendors.

• As content developer of United Way electronic newsletters, the manager collaborates with other departments, writes and produces e-publications including Campaign Leaders newsletter, electronic donor/volunteer updates, agency partner newsletter and internal employee newsletter. Manages the timely production and distribution of these publications
REQUIREMENTS
1. BA in communications or related field with three – four years in the communication field or equivalent experience required.

2. Exceptional writer with the ability to customize communication products to fit various audiences.

3. Technical proclivity and fully proficient in the latest version of Microsoft Office, Dreamweaver and/or Fireworks, QuickTime and HTML editing.

4. Attention to detail with service oriented approach to Uses creative customer focused service skills to achieve desired results.

5. Excellent work ethic, ability to perform under tight deadlines while consistently delivering top-quality results.

6. First rate project management and organizational skills.

7. Proven creativity, problem solving and critical thinking are essential.
