Manager, Information Management
Position Overview:
Position responsibilities include working as a leader in the IT group to help define the direction for overall information management and, specifically, the Supply Chain and Sales data warehouses. The Manager of Information Management will be responsible for the architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of Griffith’s Data Warehouse environment, including hands-on development of the data extraction, data quality, staging, enterprise data store, data marts, and business intelligence solutions. Other responsibilities include development of an information strategy, comprehensive technical design plans, selection of tools and methods, scheduling and coordination of tasks and working closely with many different types of business users and IT leaders to define the strategy and value delivery requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and manage an information management team (tbd in 2007/2008)
• Develop work plans;
• Establish priorities and track development timelines
• Collaborate with other IT team members on allocation of scarce IT resources
• Develop systems and processes
• Determine standards for tools, techniques, and methodologies
• Manage all project solutions in this arena including communication of status and management of risks
• Determine technical requirements for all information-based projects (e.g., data warehouse)
• Drive the logical design of the XML Schemas to support the SOA Message Architecture
• Investigate and recommend technologies and tools that help meet revenue/profitability objectives and monitor the achievement of these objectives
• Determine global implications for leveraging information assets
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will manage yet undetermined resources to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Information Management function. The supervisory responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics. The incumbant must have a minimum of 10 years data processing experience, of which 5 years must have been working directly with data warehousing (architecture, design, tools, methodologies, data modeling, meta data management, etc.).
