Chartered in 1746, and known as the College of New Jersey until 1896, it was British North America's fourth college.Position Summary: The Technical Support Analyst/Manager is responsible for oversight of the computing systems of the Graduate School. This includes supervising system implementation(s), upgrades and enhancements; translating functional requirements into technical specifications; interacting with external vendors to insure compatibility with current systems; troubleshooting complex data problems involving the various systems and interfaces; recommending and instituting office practices that take advantage of technological efficiencies; and coordinating between the functional Graduate School staff and technical/OIT personnel to interpret and resolve problems. This individual will also participate in actual system development by preparing specifications for enhancements, and by testing, preparing reports, and supporting end-users in their administrative areas. Graduate School systems/software include: * PeopleSoft admissions, student records, HRMS/Payroll, campus community and university financials; * Labor Accounting for graduate student financial support; * Princeton Review/Embark electronic application; *Cognos Reporting database for writing reports * ccess databases for financial review, reporting, and tracking; and for endowment management.Job Function: Systems ProfessionalGrade: AIT 030Standard Hours: 36.25Eligible for Overtime: NoJob Requirements
Essential Qualifications: Required: 1. Demonstrated proficiency with client-server and web-based computing environments; 2. PeopleSoft developmental (programming) experience or end-user expertise; 3. A fundamental understanding of relational databases; 4. Excellence with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access and other standard software packages; 5. Experience with writing queries and reports from databases, especially PeopleSoft; 6. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team; 7. Demonstrated ability to work accurately at a fine level of detail (please give examples in cover letter). 8. Demonstrated ability to understand the "larger picture" as well as details; ability to see how workflow can be streamlined and/or to improve business processes through technological innovation (please provide examples in cover letter). 9.
