Manager, Business Information
Provides strategic and tactical information systems support across the organization. Employs information infrastructure to satisfy the information needs of Customer Relationship Management. Manages the content and effectiveness of the information structure. Interfaces with portfolio managers and vendors to determine immediate information requirements anticipate future needs and drive infrastructure development. Assumes control of campaign management process and projects. Develops and orchestrates campaign execution to deliver to all channels of customer contact. Identifies potential factors of delay during campaign execution and adjusts to negate impact. Designs and develops complex processes to support the strategic and tactical information needs of Marketing and Risk. Identifies areas of opportunity and reengineers existing processes to deliver more effective solutions. Enhances and manages key components of the information infrastructure to support revenue generation and risk mitigation programs process.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Leverages the information infrastructure to support the business community. Identifies areas of need, develops support to generate incremental value for the organization. Interfaces with the business unit to define objectives and requirements and develops requirements into a format that allows a technical solution to be created and implemented. Defines criteria and specifications when meeting with end users or clients of the business unit to determine the development and staging of data extracted from the databases or mainframe source files. Presents and clarifies the content of data, confirms specifications, and develops defined information deliverables. Facilitates reaching a consensus on specifications and executes according to plan.
2. Manages the content and effectiveness of the information infrastructure including the Enterprise Data warehouse, Oracle and SAS data marts, Reporting and Access Tools and the quality and accuracy of the content. Defines opportunities for enhancement, presents solutions and executes to continually evolve and enhance infrastructure to be more encompassing, effective and efficient. Develops business requirements, database design, coding, testing, documentation, implementation and end-user training. Develops project plans and exectues data mart development assignments.
3. Solves technically complex programming projects in assigned area. Translates loosely defined business problems into a set of objectives, criteria and logical specifications so a programming solution can be developed. Develops, tests and writes highly complex application programs, queries and profiles according to specification. Develops, maintains and shares libraries of efficient and effective programming techniques with analysts across the organization.
4. Delivers integrated and comprehensible information to support strategic and tactical information needs of the organization. Integrates and stages data and develops data warehouse and data marts for use by analysts throughout the organization. Jointly develops business requirements with business analysts. Codes, tests, debugs, creates documentation and implements solutions. Develops tables, code and code libraries that can be shared by analysts across the business unit to increase accessibility to data marts. Develops and supports a wide variety of information deliverables in both an ad hoc and production fashion. Develops and produces standard reports and files, delivering according to specification. Implements profitability algorithms, segmentation schemes and propensity to purchase models.
5. Drives the campaign management process to generate revenue in the assigned portfolio. Develops and orchestrates campaign execution to deliver all channels of customer contact in a timely manner. Develops and tunes criteria, programs, produces interim campaign MIS, campaign file development and backend campaign tracking and reporting. Supports associated analytical requirements and model development, model development and scoring process affiliated with campaigns.
6. Designs, develop and maintains databases and data marts as needed for MIS, end-user computing and statistical modeling. Ascertains, recommends and implements methods of improving efficiencies in database design, programming tools, and coding methodologies for the business analysts and CIM. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Business, Social Science and eight years experience in a computing or information science oriented area or a Master’s degree and six years experience in a computing or information science oriented area. This position requires: excellent management, project management, organizational, analytical and technical skills; demonstrated proficiency in programming in SAS, Easytrieve, COBOL, SQL, PERL, or JAVA; demonstrated ability in managing a multitude of projects and requests of varying degrees of complexity; a commitment to provide a high degree of customer service to both internal and external clients; the ability to actively listen, interview and apply information from meetings to complete assigned tasks; excellent cognitive and mathematical aptitude; excellent analytical, management, project management and organizational skills; and strong interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
