Standard Job Description:
Analyzes production, inventory control, distribution, cost analysis, finance, marketing, human resources, and/or a variety of other business and technical problems to formulate and develop new and modified information processing systems. Determines techniques to improve the basis for decision making, policy construction, and program design and execution. Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for information processing systems including manual systems and those supported by data processing equipment. Coordinates with all organizations involved to ascertain system requirements such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, and system techniques and controls.
Typical Minimums:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
Specific Job Description:
Plans, designs, develop, document, test, implement and debugs medium to large complex software systems. Will include architecture design and the use of both high-level languages such as COBOL, C and low-level language such as assembler. Will maintain large computer systems and manage production schedules. Minimum technical knowledge is 10 years experience with, IBM mainframe, COBOL, CICS, IBM JCL, VSAM files, IBM Utilities, DB2 and structure design tools. Experience with Object Oriented Design and coding tools a plus. Experience using configuration management tools to control code and documentation and other languages such as C, C++ Easytrieve is desirable. Must have good PC skills and 5+ years experience with Microsoft Office tools.
