MainView Administrator

Do you want to expand your career by working on mainframe systems for one of the largest privately held networks in the country?If so, you should apply to be our next Mainview Administrator.The following is an outline of the role and responsibilities of a Mainview Administrator.
Configuration responsibilities are defined as:
Updating product parameter files,1 Building/migrating views and screens,1. Thresholds2. Hyperlinks3. Maintenance
Disseminating information about new features,1 Providing guidance/support in using the products,2 Support MAINVIEW security reviews/functions3 Set up MAINVIEW infrastructure as new LPARs are added into the environment.4 Testing of product environments to ensure they are up and working as designed.
In addition, this position will be responsible for maintaining the ?Alert Management? processes for each product. This involves the coordinating alert implementation with various groups; Performance, ISC?s, Techs and ESM personnel. The Alert Management includes;
Maintaining background monitors and updating metric thresholds1 Building MVAlarms
Documenting and maintaining standards for creating Alarms/Alerts.This includes:1. Alarm Names/Groups2. Message Ids3. Message Queues4. Message Generation5. Escalation Process
Working close with the ESM group to ensure the required messages are being monitored and corrective actions are defined.

Define Applications in MAINVIEW
Creating/Maintaining AutoOperator rules for alerting groups when metrics/application goals are not being met.
Build Rexx routines for automatically starting/stopping product traces1 Build Rexx routines for automatically starting/stopping product monitors2 Maintaining Email environment within AO
Maintain FIT build processes for importing an ISC environment into the test environment.
Training Requirements:
MAINVIEW Basic (4 days)
Training in Basic AutoOPERATOR Automation
Advance AutoOPERATOR training
Mentoring
Skills:
Knowledge of the MAINVIEW products listed above
Knowledge of Infrastructure
Understand MAINVIEW product implementation/customization within the environments
Understand message structures for the MAINVIEW products
Skilled Rexx/Exec Programming Knowledge
