Brief Overview Of Position:
This position is responsible for building, maintaining, and enhancing the development, test, and production environments. The system engineer will plan and document systems, respond to all systems inquiries.. This person will have lead responsibility for 24x7 production systems, hosted software (ASP) environment working heavily with linux, SAN ( EMC), NAS, this role offers operational responsibilities as well as design work and team leadership.Technical Skills Required:
5 or more years experience as a Unix /Linux systems engineer, Expert with Linux Redhat 9.x and Solaris 9.x
Ability to read and write complex administrative scripts in Perl.
Ability to work with relational database management systems including Oracle.
Expert in Apache including troubleshooting, providing information to development based on logs and system behavior, configuring plug-ins and modules.
Knowledgeable of IBM, Compaq and Sun hardware.
Experience with Java application servers including RESIN.
Experience with Version Control Systems including Perforce.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent documentation skills.
Mod-Perl, Tomcat, and Java Experience a plus.
