Lead Software Developer
Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, Oil & GasFunction: Information TechnologyResponsibilities: * Lead the development of software product with the focus on quality, on time delivery, ease of implementation, and easy to maintain perspectives.
Be a technical go-to person for the project, and provide guidance to other team members.
Work with architecture team to deliver detailed design of software product - ensure that product user interface and architecture can be componentized and reused.
Ensure that the software product is developed according to the approved design, and followed software development standards and best practices.
Be the project technical coordinator/liaison with other teams such as outsourced vendors, QA/QC, Configuration Management, Release Management, etc.
Adhere and input into the development of Software Architecture and Development Standards.
Participate in the requirement harmonization process and deliver software product prototype and/or proof of concept - strong UI skills preferred.
Develop software product, test scripts, and its related documentation according to standards.
Participate in the evaluation/implementation of third party software solutions.
Support software installations, trouble-shooting, documentation, and implementations.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * 7 years dedicated development in Microsoft languages (.NET/C#, VB, ASP).
3 years as lead/senior developer of medium to large scale projects.
Familiar with architecture/design patterns and re-usability concepts.
Skilled with object-oriented analysis and design (OOA&D) methodology.
Skilled with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and related modeling tools.
Detailed knowledge of database design and object/relational database technology.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Familiarity with all phases of the software development life cycle and Rational Unified Process.
Six Sigma Green Belt certification. (GE employee only).Desired: * Experience with product software development environment.
Experience with GIS technologies and industry standards.
Knowledge of transmission and gathering pipelines, linear referencing, and geometric networks.
Adaptive, forward thinking, and team-oriented.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Strong analytical, detailed, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
