Lead SQL Server DBA/Developer

Purpose: TEKsystems and a Worldwide Fortune 50 company are searching for several qualified SQL Server Database Developer's to join their new expanding team in Chicago, IL.

Description:
As a Database Developer lead, you will be responsible for providing high quality technology solutions that address Commercial Card business needs by developing applications within mature technology environments. You will provide database component solutions that utilize stored procedures, SQL, and views. You will be expected to leverage programming methodologies and languages that adhere to coding standards, procedures, and techniques. You will also be expected to contribute to the technical code and design documentation. The DBA Development Lead candidate will be expected to understand/apply reusable code design, leverage SQL Server 2000 capabilities/functionality, and design/develop solutions that are highly reliable, scalable, and perform to meet business-defined service levels.

You will be responsible for leading a small/medium group of Database Developers in full lifecycle project activities. You will work closely as the technical application DBA Development Lead with team leads from the line of business, business analysts, developers, infrastructure architects, and quality assurance engineers to drive out requirements into proposed solution designs and provide quality estimates for planning purposes. You will provide senior level perspectives related to the software development lifecycle, methodologies/standards, database design and technical designs/solutions. You will be expected to provide strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching to a team of less experienced DBA?s.

You will be responsible for developing technical design documentation and implementing solutions using complex stored procedures and views. You must demonstrate the ability to design data aggregation and manipulation solutions that will translate from a database/transaction store to the corresponding application user-interface.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), or related discipline.
-Minimum of 7 years relevant database development work experience.
-Experience developing database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
-SQL programming experience including T-SQL and DTS.
-Experience designing and programming complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation through table joins/queries.
-Experience designing and implementing large-scale database solutions that are reliable, scalable, and perform at a high level. Database and index tuning experience.
-Experience with SQL clustering, SQL replication, hardware replication, and/or disaster recovery implementations a plus.
-Experience using version control system, e.g., Clearcase.
-Experience using a structured software development methodology.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Ability to work independently as a self-starter and within a team environment.
-Banking and/or financial services industry experience a plus.
